Junior Nathan Sherwin was nominated for Bear of the Week by Rebecca Prevost. Sherwin is in band, Student Council, Bear Believers, Interact, and UIL Debate. Outside of school, he is involved in his youth group at church.
Sherwin said his biggest role model is his middle school band director because that is where his passion and love for music came from.
Some of Sherwin’s hobbies include volunteering in his community. He also watches television, reads, and he loves napping.
In the future, Sherwin wants to be happy and successful at his job.
“I also want to travel to different places,” he said.
Sherwin considers his greatest accomplishment to be making straight As throughout grade school. This year, he loves both of Mr. Longmire’s classes.
“He’s a great teacher that makes the class interesting,” Sherwin said.
If Sherwin could give his younger self advice, it would be: “Take more naps. You will be less grumpy.”
His favorite part of going to LCM would be the people that are in his friend group. Sherwin said his hope in Jesus Christ motivates him on a daily basis.
According to Prevost, Sherwin is a pleasure to have in class.
“He is always ready to learn and help others in class,” Prevost said. “He is ready with a smile and makes his classmates laugh with his wit. His work ethic is something he should be proud of as he is always on top of all his assignments and does his best to excel in all his efforts.”
