Senior Wayne Picklesimer was nominated for Bear of the Week by his band director, Marcus James. Picklesimer is involved in band, which takes up most of his time both inside and outside of school.
His biggest role model is any professional musician.
“That way, I can take their experience and add it to my skills,” he said.
Some of Picklesimer’s hobbies are games, writing music, and listening to music. His goals for the future are to get rich with music.
Picklesimer said he considers his greatest accomplishment to be making the 6A All-State Orchestra.
His favorite class this year is his practice period.
“I get to practice and get better,” Picklesimer said.
If he could advice to his younger self, it would be: “Don’t be a dummy; think at least once when doing anything.”
Picklesimer’s favorite part of going to LCM is being on a block schedule.
“I love having 90-minute classes for things like band and my practice period,” he said.
According to Picklesimer, he stays motivated by not wanting to let someone else be better then him – especially in music.
His band director, Marcus James, said Picklesimer is a great student.
“He is a good friend to many in the band program and always works hard to achieve success in music,” James said. “The LCM Band has enjoyed a tradition of excellence in its long history, and it’s because of band members like Pickle.”
