Senior Mallory Russell was nominated for Bear of the Week by her business teacher, Nikki Guerrero. Russell is involved in basketball, soccer, and track. Russell said her biggest role model is her dad.
“He always gives his best effort in everything and shows me that it’s okay to be myself,” Russell said.
Some of her hobbies include anything crafty and outdoors. Russell’s goals for the future are to go to college at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, then afterwards get into dental school to become an orthodontist.
According to Russell, she feels that she has not quite achieved her greatest accomplishment just yet.
“I still have plenty more years ahead of me where I’m sure I’ll accomplish bigger and better things,” she said.
If Russell could tell her younger self anything, it would be that anything is possible and to be grateful for everything. She said her favorite part of going to LCM is all her family she gets to be surrounded by.
Russell said she stays motivated by trying to continue to make herself and her parents proud.
According to Guerrero, Russell is an exceptional student whose integrity and character makes her the perfect choice for Bear of the Week.
“Mal approaches every challenge with determination and grace, refusing to take shortcuts and always doing what is right,” Guerreo said. “Her commitment to excellence and her authentic kindness toward others set her apart as a true role model for those around her. Her hard work and decication are evident in all that she does, and she consistently goes above and beyond to achieve her goals. As a multi-sport athlete, Mallory demonstrates leadership skills that extend beyond the basketball court and soccer field. She is someone whose positivity encourages those around her and reflects the genuine person she is. Mal is humble, hardworking, and selfless. She holds herself to a high standard and consistently strives to achieve it. I have enjoyed watching her in my classroom and look forward to seeing all the amazing things she will continue to accomplish this year and beyond.”
