Sophomore Sam Winn was nominated for Bear of the Week by his engineering teacher, Bryan Christian. Winn is involved in football, baseball, and Bear Believers. Outside of school, he plays baseball.
Winn said his biggest role model is Jesus Christ.
“He has saved my life and is the merciful son of God,” Winn said.
Winn loves playing guitar and going hunting. His goal for the future is to bring people to Christ. He considers his greatest accomplishment to be getting baptized with his sister.
According to Winn, his favorite class this year is engineering because he has a great teacher and great friends in the class. If he could give his younger self advice, it would be to just enjoy the little things. Winn’s favorite part of LCM is being a part of Bear Believers.
“Daily prayer keeps me motivated and happy on a daily basis,” Winn said.
According to Winn’s chemistry teacher and football coach, Frank Snoddy, Winn is a great young man.
“He is the type of student-athlete you never have to worry about because he is always going to be on top of his grades and will be where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there,” Snoddy said. “Sam is also an athlete that will always give his full effort all the time.”
