Senior Marek Lloyd was nominated for Bear of the Week by history teacher and coach Chris Coats. Lloyd is a varsity football player and is also in the workforce program. His hobbies include football, fishing, exploring, gaming, and being on the river.
Lloyd said he looks up to his dad the most.
“Regardless of what he has going on in his life, you don’t see him cry or whine,” Lloyd said. “He pushes through and takes the stress upon himself.”
In the future, Lloyd wants to go to college and get a decent job. Then, he wants to buy a decent house and build his own family.
Lloyd considers his greatest accomplishment to be his four long years of playing football, as well as the athletics off season.
“I have a feeling my graduation will pass that, though,” he said.
His favorite class this year is his forsensic science class with Lacey Dougharty. If he could give his younger self advice, it would be to stop caring what everyone things and to “stay in your own lane.”
Lloyd’s favorite part of going to LCM is his friends.
“I wouldn’t have been able to get through high school alone,” he said.
According to Lloyd, he keeps himself motivated.
“If I don’t get up and do something, then I will be nothing,” he said.
Lloyd’s football coach, Chris Coats, said he nominated Lloyd for Bear of the Week because he is a really good example of a student-athlete.
“He takes care of his business both in the classroom and the field,” Coats said. “He is a leader in our program. He encourages his teammates and at the same time will call them out on their mistakes. Marek also takes ownership of the mistakes he makes as well. We are proud of Marek and believe he would be a great candidate for Bear of the Week.”
