Junior Kymber Dougherty was nominated for Bear of the Week by teacher Jennifer Seago, who has her in two different classes: principles of education and principles of human services. Outside of school, Dougherty spends her time taking care of her baby while enjoying her time with family.
According to Dougherty, her biggest role model is her mom because always takes care of her, helps her learn to grow, and has even shown her how to be a great mom.
With such a role model in Dougherty’s life, she has a lot of support moving forward in her life. Dougherty has many goals for the future, but some of her biggest goals are to finish high school, go to college, and work to become a teacher.
As Dougherty has many goals, she also has a multitude of accomplishments. According to Dougherty, becoming a mom has been one of the greatest blessings in her life.
Thinking back, if Dougherty could give any advice to her younger self, she would tell herself to keep her circle tight with people who make her feel better about herself.
Dougherty said she always feels welcome at LCM because all the teachers are kind and understanding. In fact, her favorite class this year is Seago’s principles of education class. She enjoys the time she gets to spend with her friends in the class and finds joy in each craft they participate in.
“She is one of the sweetest students I have,” Seago said. “She is so kind to all her classmates, making them feel welcome in the classroom and at lunch. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to help with anything needed. She is a joy to have in my class; I have her for Principles in Education and Principles of Human Services. Both classes allow my students to build relationships with their classmates, and I really enjoy getting to see my student’ personalities come to life.”
