The Honey Bear drill team will perform its annual Spring Show at 7 p.m. this Friday, May 2 in the high school auditorium. The doors will open at 6 p.m. and admission is free, but donations are welcome.
“The name of the performance is ‘Destination Dance,'” coach Mikayla Wappler said. “A few songs to look forward to are Rio from the movie ‘Rio,’ ‘Come Fly With Me’ by Frank Sinatra, a Spice Girls mix, ‘Paradise’ by Coldplay, and many more songs crated in and about different destinations,” Wappler said.
Freshmen that are performing are Bailey Vandagriff, Summer Zimmerman, Layla Cloudy, and Kaylie Leffew. Sophomores are Peyton Matthews and Kathryn Netterville. Juniors are Addison Costner, Amelia Miller, Catelyn Wesson, Audrey Vice, and Madison Hudnall. The senior performers are Sadie Schroeder and Brooke Meadows.
“Our team learned three routines and our line officers learned six total,” Wappler said. ” The team showcases dances in a variety of genres such as Jazz, pom, lyrical, jazz funk, and so much more.”
These routines were performed at two competitions and are the basis of the Honey Bears’ show.
“After competition our team has worked tirelessly to perfect known routines and to learn several additional routines specifically created for our Spring Show,” Wappler said. “Please join us at our show. We hope you enjoy the journey!”
