Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center will host an Eco Fest on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring activities for all ages and a butterfly release.
According to the garden’s website, the event will include “hands-on, self-guided activities and games designed for all ages.” Admission is free.
One of the main attractions is the butterfly release, scheduled for 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Each butterfly will be placed in an envelope for participants to release in the garden. Butterflies are limited, with children given priority.
The event will also feature a vendor market with handcrafted arts and eco-friendly products. Visitors can explore the gardens, including areas around Ruby Lake, and observe local wildlife.
Concessions will be available for purchase at select vendor booths, and attendees are encouraged to bring donations for a pet food and supply drive.
Parking will be available across West Park Avenue, though spaces are limited. Guests are asked not to park in residential areas or block driveways.
Event guidelines include no pets, no smoking or vaping, and no outside alcohol. Visitors are also asked to respect wildlife and stay on designated paths.
The event is open to the public and offers an opportunity for the community to enjoy nature while learning about sustainability and local wildlife.
