The LCM Legacy Color Run and Walk 5K is a family-friendly event in Orange, Texas, aimed at raising money for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Education Foundation.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 6586 FM 1130. Registration is open until April 25 with a $35 fee for adults, $20 for ages five–twelve, and free entry for children four and under. A small processing fee also applies.
The run is designed for all ages and focuses on fun, with colorful powder along the course. Participants ages 11 and older can compete for first, second, or third place in their age group, while younger children receive participation ribbons.
All proceeds support the education foundation, which provides grants to teachers for classroom projects and programs not covered by school budgets. Donations to the foundation are tax-deductible and help improve learning opportunities for students in the district.
Organizers note that there are no refunds due to weather, and safety is the top priority. If the event is canceled, updates will be shared on the foundation’s Facebook page, including information about packet pickup.
Race materials such as bibs, shirts, and swag bags can be picked up the day before the race or starting at 7 a.m. on race day. Parking will be available at Little Cypress Junior High, with participants asked to walk to the start area.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available at different levels for businesses and community members who want to support the event.
Overall, the event combines fitness, fun, and fundraising to benefit local education.
