LCM recently hired Kevin Stone as the band director for the 2026-2027 school year. Stone has been a band director for 32 years and was a former LCM band director and member.
“LCM is where I spent many years as a teacher as well as being my alma mater,” Stone said. “I have many fond memories of the LCM school district and community.”
Stone said he is excited to build on the work and relationships he started with students and staff in January. He is anxious to get the school year started and is excited to build on the traditions of the LCM band.
“Not sure what will be different,” Stone said. “The group will be grounded in a safe environment that will challenge them with clear expectations.”
Stone’s goal for next year is for members to feel supported. He also wants them to feel challenged with their ever-developing skill set in hopes of them improving daily habits.
“My hope is that every member can look back on their time in the program and understand that progress comes from the effort they give,” Stone said. “If this is accomplished, they will be less likely to quit when something is hard. They will be able to understand not label themselves as good or bad. Instead, they will be able to focus on getting better every day.”
