The UIL Academics teams competed at the PNG Invitational this past weekend. The journalism team placed second overall, and several students brought home medals individually.
Individual results are as follows:
Computer science: 1st – Raymond Arrington, 4th – David Paul, 5th – Marshall Vaught
Copy editing: 4th – Louis McClelland, 5th – Laura Hughes
Editorial writing: 4th – Taylor Huckaby
Feature writing: 3rd – Rachel McDow, 4th – Laura Hughes
Headline writing: 1st – Annabelle Claybar, 5th – Louis McClelland
News writing: 3rd – Rachel McDow, 5th – Liberty Trupke, 6th – Jannath Bhojani
The teams will compete at Sabine Pass next on March 1.
