The boys and girls golf teams both advanced to the Regional meet, which will be held on April 13.

The LCM Golf teams wrapped up their District tournament on Tuesday, March 24 and brought home several awards. The tournament was held at the Wild Wood Golf Course, where six schools competed in the boys category and five schools competed in the girls category.

After the first day of competition, the girls team held the first place spot, with junior Lauren Cox placing first individually. The boys’ team placed second overall.

On the second day of the tournament, the girls claimed the district championship title with a total score of 813 and Cox won first place in the individual competition with an overall score of 148. Cox is no stranger to the gold, as she advanced all the way to the State tournament last year. So far this season, the girls have also placed third at the Warren Tournament, where Cox was second medalist with a 74.

The boys team, coached by Bart Williams and led by senior Daniel Toohey, placed second overall with a score of 732, following the Bridge City district champions, who scored a total of 694.

Both teams will represent 24-4A Golf at the Regional tournament on Monday, April 13.
