LCM Maintenance worker Benny Winder never meets a stranger.

Many people get up and go to work every day just to get the job done and receive a paycheck, but Benny Winder’s story is different.

When asked about his job description at LCM and what it entails he replies with “It’s according to hat the need,” Winder said, “I’m there to help them.”

As part of LCM Maintenance, Winder is expected to fix what is broken around the campuses. This includes painting buildings, hanging signs, fixing ceiling tiles, and much more.

“It’s according to what they (administration) need,” Winder said of his job description. “I’m there to help them.”

However, Winder goes outside of his job description every day. He never meets a stranger and if you see him in the hallway, you can be expect to be greeted with a smile and a “How y’all doing?”

Outside of the regular hustle and bustle of the every day job, one can find Winder at just about every extracurricular activity the school sponsors. He enjoys supporting the athletes in all the sporting events he can attend, they can count on him being at every extracurricular activity the Bears put on. In fact, the softball team has given him the nickname “Stan Man Winder” because he keeps the stats for them at every home game.

In his spare time, Winder enjoys bowling on Wednesday nights, hunting and fishing, and attending church at North Orange Baptist. He also loves to dress up as Santa Claus every year for local community events.

“I love to see their eyes light up,” Winder said.
