Balancing a busy schedule filled with multiple passions and responsibilities is no small feat, but for sophomore Taylor Bean, it comes naturally.
Bean is involved in many different extracurricular activities. She participates in marching band, theatre, all honors classes, and has a job at Sk8 and Play.
“I have had my job for two months now and it is fun to fix skates,” Bean said.
Besides work, Bean plays clarinet in marching band. She said she enjoys it for the friends she’s made and the after-school practice.
“It is hot and exhausting, but seeing the results of our hard work is so rewarding,” Bean said.
Bean has also been in the LCM theatre for over a year now.
“Theatre is insanely fun,” Bean said. “My favorite part is watching people around me grow as actors and people, as well as the fun bus rides.”
Bean shared how she balances extracurriculars on top of schoolwork.
“I just make sure to get on top of my work and get it done as fast as I can,” Bean said.
According to Bean, one of her challenges is getting good amounts of sleep.
“It gets tiring fast,” Bean said. “I am up a lot at night, but when I get it all done it is worth it.”
Bean stays motivated with a simple mindset.
“I work hard because I would rather have the pain of discipline than the pain of regret,” Bean said.
