Even though the Bear Soccer season has ended and the players have hung up their cleats for the year, several of the varsity players were given All-District honors for their efforts throughout the 2016 season.

Senior Dallas Stewart was given the title of Defensive Player of the Year and said he focused on his skills every day, which eventually paid off.

“I worked very hard to earn this award,” Stewart said. “It was a personal goal of mine I set at the beginning of the season and I knew if I met that goal then I did not let my teammates and myself down.”

This was Stewart’s last year on the team since he graduates this month and he admits that he will miss the program after he is gone.

“It is definitely hard to accept the fact that I have to leave a program and a group of guys I’ve worked so hard with the last three years on varsity,” Stewart said. “I’m definitely going to miss it.”

Sophomore Seth Brown was given the title of Utility Player of the Year, and said he plans to continue to strive for greater in the future. Brown has been on the varsity team since his freshman year and has been working hard since then – but he also knows his team has a lot to do with his advancements.

I would not have gotten this award without the team.

“I would not have gotten this award without the team,” Brown said.

According to Brown, he plans to keep up his hard work and be the best he can be in his last two years of high school. He said getting this award has inspired him and makes him feel very happy with his high school career so far.

“It means a lot because to me it says that I can compete with the best in the district,” Brown said.
