The UIL Academics teams competed in the “Shark Meat” Invitational in Sabine Pass this past weekend. Despite missing several team members due to other conflicting competitions, the Bears placed third overall. The computer science team placed first and the journalism team placed second.
Individual results are as follows:
Copy editing: Annabelle Claybar – 2nd, Gabrielle Moore – 6th
News writing: Gabrielle Moore – 2nd
Feature writing: Gabrielle Moore – 1st
Editorial writing: Gabrielle Moore -1st, Jaci Barfield – 6th
Headline writing: Annabelle Claybar – 3rd, Gabrielle Moore – 4th
Computer science: Jessica Allen – 1st, Andrew Boudreaux – 5th
