The UIL Academics teams competed in the district meet on Saturday in Bridge City and earned 1st place Sweepstakes with a score of 710 points. The second place school followed with 369 points. LCM won best overall journalism team and best overall speech team. Other first place teams were: calculator applications, computer science, mathematics, number sense, and social studies. The accounting team placed second.
