This Saturday, Dec. 3, Team Force will compete against other schools in the Region 5 area in a bowling tournament at Crossroads Bowling in Beaumont.

The team has been traveling to Crossroads at least twice a month to prepare for this tournament.

“I have never been to a bowling tournament,” freshman Team Force member Hayley Hollie said. “I am very excited to have the chance to go to one.”

According to Team Force teacher Terrie Parker, her students have come such a long way. She has found that competing builds their self-confidence and changes their attitudes.

“Their boost of confidence makes me want to work more,” Parker said. “They practice and they are proud of what they do. We encourage them to keep going. I’ve been working here for 16 years and I cannot imagine doing anything else.”

Members of Team Force said bowling is fun and knowing they have many supporters helps motivate them.

“They never give up,” Team Force aide Sharayena Robin said. “They are very strong-willed and determined. Those students impact my daily life.”

Team Force has many more activities and fundraisers in the next month, including the annual cheese log sales, which may be ordered through Dec. 2.
