New Honey Bear officers named
Just recently, Honey Bear coach and sponsor Kimberly Scott named the new Honey Bear officers for the 2016-2017 school year. The titles are as follows: junior Juliann Jennings, captain; junior Hanna Sadler, captain; sophomore Tilor Armfield, lieutenant; and sophomore Allison Ball, lieutenant.
These four girls ready to take on the challenges of not only school work, but taking care of their team and helping develop some of the decision-making and dance routines. According to Scott, Honey Bear Officers are expected to be a model Honey Bear in every way.
“Their dance technique, leadership skills, and attitude should shine every day,” Scott said.
The officers have high expectations and goals to meet for next school year. They have the responsibility to remember every piece of choreography taught at camp and reteach what they learned to the other Honey Bears prior to the performance during football season. Scott said she relies on the officer line throughout the year to bounce ideas off of on a number of things.
“They also lead with whistle calls on and off the field,” Scott said. “Officers also maintain order and call routines while we sit in the stands.”
Armfield and Ball have been part of the Honey Bears for two years and their hard work and dedication helped them earn their positions as lieutenants in the officer line.
“Their dancing abilities and willingness to go above and beyond are what set them apart,” Scott said.
Armfield and Ball both said they were excited and relieved to find out about their new positions.
“To get to be an officer with my three best friends is the greatest thing,” Ball said.
