Logan Brown, Justice Peveto, Brandon Day, and Eric Walters racked up wins for the boys tennis team on March 22, both placing first in their categories.

Brown and Peveto placed first in their first Varsity tournament, while Day and Walters placed first in JV district.

“Logan and I have won several tournaments since freshman year,” Peveto said. “Last year we won JV district, a feat which I’m proud to say was defeated by Brandon and Eric this year. This year Logan and I have won one tournament and we’re hoping to win varsity district, which is coming up soon.”

So far, the team has adjusted well with their new coach, Cory Parsons, who has introduced many new techniques and ways to prepare for the meets.

“Since Coach Parsons took charge of the team, we’ve been doing a lot of drills, which I think is good because fundamentals and repetition are essential in tennis,” Peveto said. “Recently in preparation for district we’ve been playing matches against one another.”

The varsity team will compete in district on April 8, hoping to bring home the district champion title.

“We are overall a young team, and the school’s tennis program is getting revamped with a new coach and all,” Peveto said. “I’m expecting even greater things in the future.”
