The Weeknd Releases New Album

Abel Tesfaye, known by his stage name The Weeknd, is a Canadian recording artist and record producer. “House of Balloons,”  “Thursday,” and “Echoes of Silence” were three nine-track, critically acclaimed mix tapes that were released in 2011. In 2012, Tesfaye released Trilogy, a compilation album consisting of remastered versions of the mix tape material. Now, in 2013, comes the release of The Weeknd’s much-anticipated new album, “Kiss Land.”

The lyrics of this new album have a deep sense of realism. As Abel Tesfaye explains, “Kiss Land symbolizes the tour life, but it’s a world that I created in my head… When I think about Kiss Land, I think about a terrifying place. It’s a place I’ve never been to before that I’m very unfamiliar with… That’s what Kiss Land is to me, an environment that’s just honest fear. I don’t know who I am right now and I’m doing all these outlandish things in these settings that I’m not familiar with. To me, it’s the most terrifying thing ever.”
Most of the lyrics on the album are easily relatable to many teenagers, and seem to speak right to the listener’s soul. Be sure to download The Weeknd’s new R&B album, “Kiss Land,” for some good beats and inspirational thoughts.
