As the first of December hits, people jump into holiday preparation and festivities. To help people prepare for Christmas, The Brown Estate of Lamar State College – Orange is holding its 10th Annual Christmas at the Browns on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 12 to 4 p.m. Guest will be able to tour the mansion, shop from many vendors, meet and take a picture with Santa and much more.

“This year we are excited about our guest author, Sylvia Dickey Smith,” Employee Victoria Elliott said. “We will also have many other vendors selling clothing, gift items, and baked goods.”

Sylvia Dickey Smith, who is from Orange, is the author of the Sidra Smart mystery series, an award-winning historical novel, A War Of Her Own, and a cookbook, Sassy Southern Classy Cajun. Along with Smith, authors Carolyn Mello and Alton Davis will be at the event.

“We are very happy to have these authors at the event and hope the community enjoys all of our vendors,” Elliott said.

Some vendors that will be at the event are Knicki’s Boutique, Luvs Lingerie, Jackie’s Glassworks, Simply Sweet Treats bakery, Gigi’s Baby Clothes, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Glass Jewelry, and Scentsy.

“We hope the event will be a local opportunity for the community to get some of their Christmas shopping done,” Elliott said.

While parents shop, kids will be able to meet Santa, get their face painted, and do many arts and crafts.

“The event is free to the public,” Elliott said. “I hope we have a great turnout and people take advantage of the opportunity to see the house.”
