There are many opportunities in the Southeast Texas area to celebrate Halloween this year, including endless parties, haunted houses, and “trunk-or-treats.” One Halloween event happening now is a “Car Carnival” hosted by North Orange Baptist Church (NOBC). This is considered an “alternative to trick-or-treating,” according to Youth Pastor Trevor Koonce of NOBC.

“We’ve been doing this event for about five to seven years,” Koonce said. “We put this event on as a community outreach event. I really love being able to hang out with our community and talking to all of the people who come out.”

This experience will be happening tonight from 5:30 until 7 p.m. All are encouraged to come and enjoy games, prizes, food, candy (of course), and fun.

Many other events will occur this Halloween as an alternative to trick-or-treating.

There is a “truck-or-treat” at Sabine River Ford in Orange from 5-7 p.m. and also at Cowboy Church of Orange County, also from 5-7 p.m. There are many trunk-or-treats, including one at First Christian Church Orangefield from 6-8 p.m. McDonald Baptist Church will be holding its “Not So Scary Halloween Party” from 1-3 p.m. Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist is holding a “Season of Harvest” from 5-8 p.m. at the Orange Inn Suites.

The LCM Battlin’ Bear Band will be hosting a 5K Zombie Fun Run/Walk and Car Show from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Claiborne West Park. Lasting from today until Halloween there will be a Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser at Cove Baptist Church from 11 a.m – 7 p.m. and there is also the infamous Haunted Hotel in downtown Beaumont, open from 7:13 – 9:13 p.m. on Thursday and 7:13-11:13 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
