The Bear Football team played Goose Creek Memorial last Friday in Baytown and even though the game was close at times, LCM was defeated in a tough, physical game, 30-23.

Senior Samuel King and sophomore J’Lon Douglas had several good running plays and senior Mitchell Lee received an impressive 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Beau Bickham. However, GCM was able to stop on top after a 90-yard touchdown run in the last few minutes of the game.

Head Coach Randy Crouch said the Bears may be a little beat up after the game, but will be ready to battle again.

The Bears have a young team that is working to improve and pushing forward for success.

Crouch thinks the Bears had too many penalties and  turnovers last week. The coaches admit the Bears are hungry for a win and the players and they are working hard this week to get one.

According to Crouch, LCM will face another physical contest when the Bears play the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks this Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Battlin’ Bear Stadium.
