Sophomore Calin Nelms is involved in art, agriculture, and Team Force. Outside of school, he likes to swing and play outside. He also likes to take care of his dogs, Elsa and Paws, and his chickens.
Nelms said his biggest role models are his mom and dad because they are nice. Some of his goals for the future are to work with plants. He considers his greatest accomplishments to be doing really well in PE and in school.
Nelms’ favorite class this year is art because he loves his aide, Mrs. Debra. Some advice he would give to his younger self is, “I love you.”
His favorite part of going to LCM is his friends, teachers, CNN 10, KidNuz, and morning meetings in his classroom. Nelms said he is motivated by his mom, dad, Traevin, and Maddie.
According to Nelms’ teacher, Carlie Ford, he is a very hard-working, kind, and outgoing student.
“He loves to help anyone in need and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone smiles and laughs,” Nelms said. “Calin loves to be in school, and through his hard work and dedication to all of his classes, it shows! Calin is a great student to have in class and one that we can all count on to have a smile for everyone.”
