Senior Brooklyn Elliott is a leader in her school, not only because she is Co-Captain of the award-winning varsity cheer team and President of Interact, but also in the way she inspires her teachers and fellow students each day. In addition to Interact and the cheer team, Elliott is also involved in Student Council, National Honor Society, and sings on the worship team at North Orange Baptist Church.
Elliott plans to go to college to become a dentist and a Sunday School teacher. Most of all, she wants to allow God to lead her in life and surround herself with the people she loves.
Some of Elliott’s favorite hobbies include reading, singing, volunteering, coloring, and spending time with friends and family. The person who inspires her the most is her mom.
“She is the strongest, most compassionate and wisest person I know,” Elliott said. “She has always encouraged me to follow my path and to be the best version of myself. I would not be the person I am today without her. She is one of the few people I look up to and I hope one day I can be as good a mom as her.”
Elliott’s favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11. “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
Last year, after six months of practicing, the cheer team placed 2nd in the State of Texas for 4A D1, an accomplishment that Elliott claims made her feel most proud.
“Brooklyn encompasses so many of the traits that we want to see in our LCM students,” LCM High School nurse and Interact sponsor Jeannie Alexander said. “She is involved in and excels in her athletics, academics, and club participation. I have watched her grow in her leadership skills over the last three years as an Interact Club officer, where she currently serves with confidence as the president of the largest club on campus. She leads with a humble spirit and has a servant’s heart for others. She rises to the occasion to help out in any area that presents itself and encourages others to get involved as well. She is a friend to many, a blessing to our club, and she is a breath of fresh air on campus. I can’t wait to see where her future takes her!”
