UIL places third at PNG Invitational

Camille Kelly and Rayna Christy contributed to the second place journalism team win.

The UIL Academics teams competed at the PNG Academic Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11. LCM placed third overall and had several students place. The Computer Science and Journalism teams both placed second.

Individual results are:

Computer Science: 2nd – Raymond Arrington, 4th – Evan Landry and Jeremiah Rust

Copy Editing: 5th – Rayna Christy

News Writing: 4th – Camille Kelly

Feature Writing: 1st – Gabrielle Moore, 3rd – Rayna Christy, 4th – Camille Kelly

Editorial Writing: 3rd – Valencia Allen, 5th – Camille Kelly

Headline Writing: 1st – Rayna Christy, 6th – Gabrielle Moore

Prose: 1st – Simra Shahab

Poetry: 2nd – Cole Watson

Persuasive Speaking: 6th – Cole Watson

The teams will compete at the district meet on March 25 in Silsbee.
