Culinary arts caters lunch for Port of Orange

LCM Bear Facts Staff

The first period culinary arts class catered a board meeting for the Port of Orange on Monday, Nov. 14. They served chicken spaghetti, garlic knots, salad, and chocolate dessert. All dishes were prepared by the students in the class.

According to culinary arts teacher Rochelle Briggs, compliments about the students and the lunch started pouring in yesterday afternoon. Some of the attendees at the meeting reached out to Briggs to thank her and her students for cooking up a “delicious” meal.

“I am so very proud of my students,” Briggs said. “They really do love to cook. Being able to show the community what we are doing here at LCM High School just instills a sense of pride in the students, as well as myself. I welcome any opportunity to help them grow in their cooking skills. I am hopeful that word will spread in our community about what we are doing here, and we will have more catering jobs lined up for the new year.”
