The Battlin’ Bear Varsity Football team brought home a district championship for the first time since 1994 after defeating Splendora, 41-7, Friday night. The Bears ended regular season play with an 8-2 overall record and a 4-1 district record. The Bears share the district championship title with the Vidor Pirates, who also finished district with a 4-1 record.

The Bears will enter the Bi-District round of playoffs as the second seed in District 10-4A Division I.

LCM will play the Palestine Wildcats in the first round of playoffs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 12 in Willis. All tickets for the game will be sold through LCM Athletics. There will not be any online or credit card sales. Pre-sale tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. All tickets at the gate are $6. No LCM employee badges or VIP Senior Citizen passes will be accepted. All student athlete spectators must purchase a ticket if going to the game, just like an away game.
