The fall tennis team snagged the district title last week for the second year in a row. The next step in their season is to dominate in bi-district and advance further in the playoffs. Coach Brett Nicholson is proud of her team and ready to take on the challenges playoffs will bring.

“It feels great to win district two years in a row,” Nicholson said. “I am proud of the entire team.”

Fall tennis is a team sport. Every match counts towards the team’s overall score, so every game matters. The ranking of a player does not determine the importance of a match, so it’s important to have high skill throughout the team’s lineup.

“I want to work on our lower ranked players being more consistent,” Nicholson said.

The next step in the tennis team’s season is playoffs. Over the next few weeks, they will play in tournaments to fight for a chance to compete in the following rounds. The first round will be bi- district, this tournament will take place on Oct. 11.

“The matches take place mainly on Tuesday’s,” Nicholson said. “They start around 4 p.m..”
