Katlyn Owens, Writer

Junior Aaliyah LeCompte plays tennis and is involved in band, yearbook, Bear Believers, and Interact Club. After school, she interns at North Orange Animal Hospital and babysits on Sunday afternoons. In her free time, she enjoys watching Teen Wolf and The Vampire Diaries, reading books with strong female leads, and spending time with her dogs and cat, Kilo, Bandit, and Tofu.

According to LeCompte, Jesus inspires her to treat people with kindness. She studies her Bible every night to end the day with something great and spend time with God. LeCompte is a member of First Baptist Church-Orange, and was baptized on July 1, 2018.

After graduation, LeCompte plans on attending the Lamar Institute of Technology to earn her Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, and then going to Texas A&M University to earn her Veterinary degree. Currently, Livestock Productions and Veterinary Medicine Applications are her favorite classes. According to LeCompte, Nicholas Coleman’s classes make her day and she enjoys adding to lessons with her funny commentary.

The best piece of advice LeCompte has ever received is that people are going to talk about you, whether it be good or bad, so you might as well give them something to talk about.
