Senior Katie Courmier is a proud member of the Battlin’ Bear Band and will be attending Stephen F. Austin State University next year.

Senior Katie Courmier is a flutist in the Battlin’ Bear Band and is also a member of the Interact Club. She said she looks up to her mom, Elizabeth LeBoeuf, and Rebecca Dyer.

“They’re really amazing women that don’t take any bull,” she said. “All are wonderful, kind, strong, working, independent women that have helped me so much.”

Courmier said she wants people to feel comfortable talking to her and knowing that she will be there for them.

“I just want people to feel comfortable just being themselves around me,” she said.

She stays motivated by knowing that her hard work will pay off and knowing that she will achieve her goals as the end result. In her free time, she is usually working on college algebra, having fun with friends, shopping, watching TikTok, and practicing self care by playing video games, watching one of her favorite shows, or reading a good book.

Courmier said her education is important to her, as well as her family and all of the people she has formed close relationships with over the years. She wants to encourage those around her to be confident and be true to themselves.

“No matter how weird or wacky people find you, like what you like and enjoy life,” she said.
