Principal Ryan DuBose and coach Hunter Gonzales get drenched in the Ice Bucket Challenge.

Last Friday, principal Ryan DuBose and coach Hunter Gonzales competed in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge at the pep rally held at Battlin’ Bear Stadium. They were challenged to do so in honor of local community member Tony Dallas, who was diagnosed with ALS in the summer of 2019.

ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, causing loss of muscle control.

There will be a walk held in downtown Orange on Oct. 31 to raise funds and awareness. Those who would like to make donations may click this link to do so: http://webtxportal.alsa.org/site/TR?px=8339990&fr_id=14328&pg=personal&fbclid=IwAR06ZQlE-k_7IE55VQuD67f_gePGByJjO8qeb1LXMxIH1bGxm2zSnC6Crso
