The influences of social media on teens is a controversial topic in today’s world.

With social media taking over in today’s society, it is common to see young teens walking around in clothing that has been seen just days earlier on any well-known media outlet or famous celebrity’s Instagram post. Social media is a role in most everyone’s daily schedule and has a major impact on the young women of today.

Wanting to walk around in the latest fashion trends is not necessarily a bad thing, but young women do need to learn how to perceive and react. People should do whatever makes them feel comfortable and happy instead of settling for what makes others like them more. People should never be judged on the brand or appearance of their clothes. This is why young teens need to learn that everything they see on the internet and in magazines isn’t always what they need to strive to be in life.

Having a goal is something that’s common with the youth of any generation, but as times change, so do personal goals. A young girl could have wished to get a Barbie doll years ago and now that the internet and other outlets have become so common, a young girl in today’s society would want five pairs of shoes and three new diamond accessories.

However, the internet can also have some influences that can be positive. With all the social networking apps and even dating websites, people can meet their possible husband, wife, or best friend on the internet.

People also use the internet to express themselves through various outlets. An artist can express himself by posting what he draws, paints, or sculpts. The things people create can influence how someone acts as a person and can affect their feelings about certain issues.

Helping others all the way across the world is another thing that the internet can provide. If that wasn’t possible, people would not be able to meet a future relative or friend. It helps people connect and learn others cultural differences.
