Anime Club hosts a movie night on the last Thursday of every month in sponsor Katrina Owen’s room and this is a chance for students to have fun and celebrate another month in Anime Club. Owen said movie nights are to give students a chance to watch a full-length anime movie and socialize with students who cannot make regular meetings.

This month’s movie night will be Halloween themed.

“This year we are going the zombie route,“ Owen said. “All standard members are zombies and the officers are zombie hunters. Food and games are accordingly themed.”

At a typical movie night, members bring food and goodies, watch an anime movie, discuss the movie, play games, and watch anime music videos. Officers meet on Tuesday mornings and make the decision on what movie to watch.

“Once it is approved by me, we simply obtain a rental copy and watch it,” Owen said.

Owen said the members enjoy the movie night as a social time to spend with the other, less constant members, and have good food.

“I love hosting movie nights because it is the epitome of what I wanted for this club,” she said. “Students bring other students and they hang out with their friends. It gives them a chance to blow off some stress and discover how alike they are.”
