Fifteen choir students were selected to be a part of the All-Region Choir and are now preparing to perform in a concert to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at the Julie Rogers Theater.

Students who will perform in the concert are: Monica Daleo, Victoria Crosson, Rachel Belcher, Hailee Sawyer, Caitlyn Sulak, Octavia Weimer all made the treble choir. Students who made the tenor/bass choir are: Julian Purgahn, Tyren Dews, and Aidan Croaker. Nikki Mathis, Ciarra Kendall, Hannah Hodges, Chase Courtier, Chandler Peveto, and Logan Brown made the mixed choir.

“We competed against students from all over our region,” choir teacher Nikki Hanson said. “After learning music that was selected by a committee, we sang individually for five judges, and were ranked on our scores.”

Hanson said the choir will have “zone rehearsals” starting the week before the concert and continuing through the week of the concert. They will then have a rehearsal the evening before the concert and all day before the performance.

Senior Hannah Hodges made second chair soprano in the mixed choir and has been learning the music for the concert. She said the concert will be a bittersweet one for her.

“I feel accomplished that I’ve made it all four years of high school, but I’m going to miss it,” Hodges said.

The students  auditioned in the second round to see who will advance to Pre-Area. Logan Brown, Chase Courtier, Hannah Hodges, Ciarra Kendall, Nikki Mathis, and Chandler Peveto were selected to advanced to the competition which will be in December.

Tickets are five dollars for anyone who would like the see LCM’s own perform in the concert.
