After winning the homecoming game against Cleveland on Friday (55-6), the Bears are left with their heads held high for the next game. At the game, many memorable plays were made, one of which was made by senior varsity football player Mitchell Lee. After a pass from a Cleveland player was fumbled, Lee grabbed the football and proceeded to run the ball all the way into the end zone.

“We knew, with a score on the drive, [that] we could put the game away. So I just did what I could to make a play so I could help my team get the win,” Lee said, and he helped do just that. This win put the bears 2-1 in district, and prepared for the next game.

“A big win like that gives us tons of momentum heading into our tougher games through the rest of district,” Lee said. “It’s a tough road ahead but I believe we are capable of winning out in district in making a run in playoffs.” The boys’ next district game is this Friday against Bridge City, for their homecoming game.
