Sophomore Angler Dreams of Making the Pro’s

Sophomore Alora Lee has big hopes of becoming a female pro angler.

Sophomore Alora Lee appears to be like any other teenage girl who enjoys spending time with her family with hopes of graduating with good grades, but some people may be surprised to learn that she is passionate about one particular hobby: fishing.

When she isn’t tanning, swimming or painting, Lee spends the rest of her time fishing, something she has been doing for many years.

“I’ve been around fishing all of my life,” Lee said. “So when I heard of the bass team, I wanted to join.”

Lee has competed in several tournaments, where she placed in 6th and finished in the top 15 percent. She said she looks forward to beating the guys in the next tournament.

“It’s amazing to compete with other great anglers,” Lee said.

She hopes to one day be the first girl professional angler and with the right motivation and patience, she might just make that happen.

“I also push myself to be the best in every aspect of my life,” Lee said.

Her passion for fishing is quickly changing from being a hobby and turning into a lifetime goal, as fishing is considered a sport and is a major part of Lee’s life.

“It’s an awesome sport to be in,” she said. “Have fun and enjoy every moment you spend on the water with your family and friends.”
