Sophomore Jacob Scheiderer is on the varsity baseball and track teams. Outside of school, he plays select baseball and goes to church. According to Scheiderer, his biggest role model is his dad.
“Watching him put in work every day has taught me what it means to be resilient,” he said. “He’s not just someone I look up to; he’s someone I want to make proud.”
Outside of baseball, his other hobbies are working out and working on sports and business. His goals for the future are to run a successful business or do something with baseball.
Scheiderer considers his greatest accomplishment winning “District Newcomer of the Year” last season for baseball and being ranked in baseball. His favorite class this year is history because he gets to learn a lot of interesting things.
Some advice he would give to his younger self is, “Don’t rush the process and don’t compare yourself to others.” His favorite part of going to LCM is the athletic program and the coaches.
Scheiderer said he is motivated by the goals he has set for himself, the kind of life he wants to build, and the person he wants to become.
“It’s not always about the huge wins,” he said. “Sometimes it’s just the mindset of never giving up.”
According to one of Scheiderer’s coaches, Christopher Coats, he is a great example of a what a student-athlete should be.
“He takes care of his business in the classroom by making good grades and being a mature, respecful person,” Coats said. “He is where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there, has a great attitude, practices hard, and it translates on to the game field. He is everything you want in a student-athlete.”
