After graduating from high school, trying to figure out what kind of career a student wants to pursue can be stressful for many. Thankfully, the LCM High School Career Fair that is being held for seniors is there to help alleviate some of the stress and help seniors learn more about careers and working for different businesses.
The Career Fair is being held on Friday, March 14. It is being hosted by LCM High School.
“The Career Fair is an event in which we have invited business and industry from our area that provide career training or on-the-job training to their employees,” CTE-CCMR coordinator Cathy Miller said. “It can introduce the students to career training available as well as high paying jobs here in southeast Texas.”
All seniors who are interested in becoming highly skilled workers in the Southeast Texas area are invited to attend the Career Fair.
There will be many different businesses and companies at the Career Fair for seniors to learn more about. Businesses and industries that will be present at the Career Fair include Mason Construction, Associated General Contractors of SETX, Echo Maintenance, IBEW Local Union 479, and Workforce Solutions.
The Career Fair is expected to be beneficial to many seniors who have not made plans for themselves. It will give all students the chance to learn more about the many opportunities for high-paying jobs in southeast Texas.
“I have found that many of our students are not aware of the many opportunities available for students not planning to attend a college or university after high school” Miller said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the seniors participate and ask questions of the business and industries represented.”
This is the first ever Career Fair to be hosted at LCM, but there are big plans for the future of the fair.
“We look forward to seeing our seniors make plans for life after high school graduation” Miller said. “We hope to make this an annual event that only gets bigger every year.”
The LCM High School Career Fair is a new and exciting opportunity for seniors to learn about potential careers in Southeast Texas. It can be helpful to seniors who are not fully sure what they want to do after high school.
