LCMCISD will host an Immunizations Clinic on March 11 for all students. For those interested, the deadline to sign up is Friday, March 7.
To sign up, go to the LCMCISD website and click the link to register for the MCV4 (Meningitis vaccination). For those under 18 a parent or guardian must fill out the Vaccine Consent Form, and the student must bring the form with them on the day of the vaccinations. As for students 18 or older they must complete the Adult Consent Form and bring them on the day of vaccinations. When filling out the forms it is important that you make sure all your information is correct. Along with that, if you do not have insurance make sure to fill in N/A on all the insurance blanks.
Furthermore, those with insurance, their policies will be checked and verified before the day of the clinic. If you do not have insurance, you will pay out of pocket. For birth through 18 years of age the price is ten dollars, while 19 years of age and above, prices will vairy depending on the vaccine.
When deciding whether or not to get the vaccination it is important to consider that many colleges require the Meningitis shot before students can step foot on campus. For some colleges, that may even mean you cannot tour the college without it. Although it tends to be optional, it may vary depending on the college so check the requirements before deciding on opting out.
Any further questions should be forwarded to the school nurses Jeannie Alexander and Lisa Fuselier; their contact information can be found on the school website under the Nurse department.
