LCM has multiple Christmas traditions that shine through every year – one of them being the Trail of Trees.
This tradition includes the decorating of Christmas trees from every club/organization within the school. Each tree is decorated based on what that class is. They are then displayed all throughout the hallways of the school.
“I have decided that this year my favorite is the tennis tree,” math teacher, Elizabeth LeBoeuf said. “I like how they made a garland out of tennis balls.”
It takes many hours of hard work and thought to bring the idea of the trees to life.
“Students took about a week of class time to complete the tree,” fashion teacher Devyn Duhon said. “They used branches to create the bell silhouette on the bottom and fabric draping techniques to create the bodice.”
The trees are a fun activity for students and staff members to participate in. It brings back the warmth of the holidays through binding with others to put together something beautiful and filled with creativity.
“My favorite part about the tree is that it is a reference to my childhood being a 90s kid since I owned a Christmas edition Barbie when I was younger,” Duhon said. “I also love the joy it brings students and staff! We have already received various comments and compliments on it.”
When the trees are all done, they look festive while students are walking through the school. Both students and staff members get to admire how each class displays their creativeness and hard work as the feeling of Christmas fills the hallways.
