Dave Campbell’s Mr. Texas Football Player of the Week Award goes to extraordinary high school football players in Texas. Each week, fans have the opportunity to vote for their favorite player. At the end of the football season, ten finalists are chosen. Junior Braylon Lewis has been nominated to be Mr. Texas Football. Voting is open for Mr. Texas football on the Texas Football website.
Lewis has been nominated for his outstanding plays. He has 212 yards, 2 touchdowns in passing, 171 yards, and two touchdowns running.
“This nomination is a great accomplishment for me and brings a spotlight to the team,” Lewis said. “I have worked hard for this nomination by putting a lot of training and practice with my teammates as well as buying into the role I have to play for the team.”
Lewis describes himself as relentless and unselfish. He said he will do whatever it takes to put his team in the best situation to win.
“I have really enjoyed this season so far,” Lewis said. “It feels good when we win. My goals for the season is to be first all-district and win state.”
