Senior Mylashia Mahoney is involved in many organizations, including being a student trainer for football and softball, and a student teacher aide at LCJH. She is also a part of a youth program at her church, Starlight Church of God in Christ, where she talks to different people and hears new perspectives.
According to Mahoney, people would describe her as hard-working, fun-loving, caring, dedicated, funny, beautiful, and a “queen.” She loves to hang out with her friends in her spare time.
Mahoney’s dream job is to have a talk show with her best friend, RiRi, because they both love to laugh. However, education is her endorsement/major, because she loves kids and seeing them grow academically.
When people meet Mahoney, they are most surprised to learn that she gives good advice and that it’s her third year being an LCM trainer.
According to Mahoney, her hidden talents are singing and dancing, cooking good foods, and doing word searches.
Something Mahoney knows a weird amount about is maintaining good mental health and showing unconditional love.
Mahoney’s phone background is her Momo because she passed away in 2022 and was the best cook. Everything she does shows honor to her and her Aunt Nikki.
According to Mahoney, the story that she is most proud of herself for was last year when she was put in a leadership position and hated it. Too much was going on during that time, such as personal life, hard decision making, and training. She said she could have given up, but didn’t. She continued through the pain.
Mahoney is thankful for here friends because they show her love and support through everything; she also said they are hilarious.
Advice Mahoney would give to her younger self would be not to let opinions of others become the opinions of herself. A quote that she loves is, “If you don’t think anyone loves you, and you don’t matter, just know I love you and I’m so happy to see you pushing through.”
Mahoney hopes to be remembered for being a kind, loyal, and dedicated person who people can talk to and trust.
Some things that are on Mahoney’s bucket list are to travel the world, get married, and become a stay-at-home mom.
According to athletic trainer Sheri Hoffpauir, Mahoney is an inspiration to everyone with her enthusiasm for life and whatever she is doing.
“She is a hard worker and is dedicated to the Student Trainer Aide program,” Hoffpauir said. “She can get everyone around her fired up at the games on Friday nights. She is a hard worker and is always willing to learn how to improve her skill set. We love having Meme as a part of the Student trainer program.”
