Senior Janniliz Nazario Gonzalez is involved in many on-campus organizations: cosmetology, choir, varsity volleyball, Key Club, and National Honor Society. Outside of school, she helps her mom at her job and even participates in a volleyball club.
According to Gonzalez, her biggest role model is her parents as they both work hard and sacrifice so much for her and have taught her many things.
Gonzalez has many hobbies that she enjoys, but some of the few she genuinely loves are getting to do hair, skin, and nails, along with playing volleyball and shopping.
Many of Gonzalez’s hobbies inspire her goals for the future. One of her goals is to own her own salon and have her own skincare brand.
Her goals also explain why her favorite class this year is cosmetology, as she truly enjoys working with the many things they learn and even enjoys learning different techniques and services.
Gonzalez considers her greatest accomplishment to be the fact that she is in honor and college classes with good grades while also being a student athlete.
With all that Gonzalez does, it takes a lot of motivation, and for her, her motivation is the thought of her future self and keeping her many goals in mind, while striving to become the best version of herself and work toward success.
According to Gonzalez, if she could give any advice to her younger self, she would tell herself not to compare herself or what she has to others, as life is not fair, and it is better to work with what you have and be grateful for those things.
According to Gonzalez’s English IV teacher, Falon Sheppard, she always walks into class with a smile on her face and ready to work.
“I can count on her engagement and attentiveness each day,” Sheppard said. “She’s respectful, responsible, and very considerate. She lights up the room with her goodness. I’m grateful to have her in class!”
