Sophomore Thomasina Nguyen is not only her class secretary, but she is also involved in many school clubs including HOSA, Interact, and Student Council. Although she is involved in many school activities, she is also involved in many things outside of school such as her church youth group and other things in the community.
Her biggest role models are her grandparents because they never fail to make her day brighter. Their presence brings her comfort, and they helped her become who she is today.
She loves going fishing with her dad, reading, and hanging out with her best friends in her free time. Nguyen said her friends are a big motivation in her daily life, but thinking of what she wants her future to look like helps keep her going.
Nguyen’s favorite part of going to LCM is the school spirit and the diverse extracurriculars the school has to offer. Her favorite classes are Mrs. Fruge’s journalism class and Mrs. Parson’s Principals of Health Science class. She said these teachers always give advice to students when needed and they always find solutions to fix things.
Nguyen’s advice to her younger self would be that it is okay to make mistakes; this is everyone’s first time living, too.
Her goals for the future are to finish high school and college. After college, she plans to work her dream job as a flight attendant.
According to her Principles of Health Science teacher Tara Parsons, Nguyen brings a positive energy to the classroom every day.
“She constantly has a smile on her face and is always attentive during class,” Nguyen said. “Her cheerfulness is truly contagious.”
