In today’s world, we are continuously making technological advancements and even though we have had technology for many years now, it can be said that we are only just beginning to grasp the idea of what technology is and where it can take us. The district is taking initiative and moving forward with the use of more technology in the classroom. This school year, each classroom on the high school campus will have a set of laptops for the students to use.
As a student, I believe bringing technology into schools should be encouraged among other schools and should be looked upon in a positive way rather than a negative. Technology has many benefits in a classroom and more schools should implement technology.
What most people do not realize is that technology allows students to experience new and advanced ways of learning. Now that technology has advanced, many teachers are including it in their classrooms and even moving most assignments online. A good example of this is essays are now typed online, rather than written on paper.
When looking at the fact that most teachers are moving online, one must consider that thanks to technology, students are more capable of working from home. It would be easier to meet deadlines and even keep up with homework. This is also good for when students are absent for multiple days. They can access their work online through the school applications.
Another reason technology is beneficial in the classroom is because most students have had technology in their hands since they were little kids. They are connected and knowledgeable on how technology works. They are able to easily work the technology without many problems.
Although some people feel as if bringing technology into the classroom will only make kids more addicted to their phones and other tech, it will only help them in their future. Having a phone addiction can be a big problem, but in today’s world, technology is used constantly. Most workplaces use technology for keeping track of stocks and money so bringing in technology now is only helping kids prepare for when they are searching for a job as they will have experience working with technology.
Overall, technology is only helping the students and preparing them as technology becomes an even bigger part of their lives. Technology is always growing and changing so your school should take the opportunity to bring in computers to help the students at your school be prepared for their future.
