Freshman Peyton Brewer is involved in many activities, both inside and outside of school. He is the freshman class president, a member of the football team, and a member of the LCM bass team. Outside of school, he is the president of the Orange County Claybuster’s team and the secretary of the Orange County Youth Council.
Brewer has many hobbies, which include bass fishing, skeet shooting, football, and going to church with his family. He loves the lake, public speaking, and praying for others. Brewer has bright goals for the future and an even brighter view of the world.
“My goal for the future is to go to Texas A&M University to become a very good lawyer,” Brewer said. “Further on in life I want to become a very strong influential politician, but most of all doing what God has in store for me.”
Brewer has a dedicated support system within his family, specifically his mom and dad.
“My biggest inspirations are my mom and my dad; I can’t choose just one because equally they are here to support me,” Brewer said. ‘They taught me that even though it is hard to get up and work every day, God helps us.”
Brewer’s sense of motivation comes from within himself.
“I’m like every person; I make mistakes,” Brewer said. “While those mistakes try and take hold of my life, I turn away and ask myself what I can do to be a better Christian, student, friend, teammate, example, and leader.”
Some of Brewer’s greatest accomplishments are his achievements in skeet shooting and bass team, as well as earning first place in impromptu speaking in last year’s UIL competition.
Brewer’s favorite class is one that is hard for him, but one that he has still learned to appreciate.
“While geometry is hard, it’s awesome to have a teacher like Mr. Christian,” Brewer said. “Mr. Christian helps me learn and creates a great atmosphere.”
Brewer is a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan and would like everyone to know he is excited to be a Bear. This year, he is is ready to be a leader and friend to all. His favorite quote is a Bible verse – 1 Timothy 1:12: “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to all believers in conduct, in love, in spirit, and in purity.”
“This is my guideline for who I am as a person,” Brewer said. “I’m here to love God and to be an example of Him in my conduct and actions.”
According to assistant principal Leah LeBouef, Brewer is the first one to step up when help is needed. He helps clean up the cafeteria after lunch and picks up all the trays that other students leave on the tables.
“You don’t even have to ask; he just jumps in,” LeBouef said. “He is a great kid who will be a great leader on campus!”
