From a parade to a festival, there are many things to do this weekend at the Mauriceville Crawfish Festival. On May 4, there will be a parade full of people from all over Southeast Texas – from local schools to beauty queens and even tons of classic and supped up cars.
For those going to take part in the parade, it starts at OJ’s Gas Station and ends at the bridge going to Mauriceville Middle School.
For others who are interested in the festival, they will have something for everyone. As usual, they have “all you can eat crawfish” this year and have even added something special – shrimp. According to coordinator Danielle Powell, they are hoping that more people will come out and enjoy all the options.
As for activities, the festival has many food and craft vendors, a kid’s fun zone, and live music. Throughout the day, they will also have a few competitions, including a Crawfish Eating Contest and something they have not had before – a Tug-of-War contest. Festival wristbands are $45 in advance or at the gate and can also be ordered online at crawfishbash.com.
