Senior Daunte Greer is cornerback and running back for the Battlin’ Bears varsity football team. Some of his favorite hobbies include playing football, listening to music, and chilling with his little brothers. He is not involved in extracurriculars now, but spends his free time babysitting his little sister and is about to start a new job.
Greer’s favorite classes this year are English 4 and athletics. When asked something that people may not know about him, he said, “nothing, I’m an open book.” He also said he is blessed to make it to his senior year.
His plans are to play college football next fall and pursue a master’s degree in business.
“My mom is my main motivator, but my biggest inspiration is the small bit of family I have,” he said. “I couldn’t ask for better. After a harsh four years of high school, overcoming obstacles, I dedicate my senior year to my loved ones I’ve lost throughout the years. This is for my Auntie: Geraldine Foster, Uncle: Ricky “Slick,” and my right hand man, my brother: Hayden Moore “Tank.” I miss y’all dearly.”
According to head football coach Eric Peevey, Greer was an asset on the football team.
“Daunte has done such a great job this year not only in school, but also on the field,” Peevey said. “He is such a hard worker, and has such a bright future!”
